Hello people! I am writing this snuggled up in bed rocking my fluffy leopard dressing gown and knee high stripy socks because I am ill. Great timing Emma, it’s not like you just started uni or anything. Oh well, I have been resting and trying to make myself better. Today I decided to treat myself to a bit of a pamper sesh. When you are ill a lovely long shower or bath can do you the world of good.
I thought I would share some of my favourite pamper products with you. Some of them are pretty standard and cheap whereas others are a bit more of an indulgence so there should be something for everyone!
Original Source shower gels are absolutely amazing! I love every single one of their different scents however the Vanilla and Raspberry and Raspberry and Cocoa are my current two favourites. Usually priced at about £2.29. Right now they are only 99p each on the Superdrug website which rocks! They lather up really well and make your skin so soft. They are packed with natural fragrances which leaves you and your bathroom smelling heavenly.
Superdrug’s Revitalising Raspberry & Macadamia Nut Shampoo and Conditioner makes my hair so soft and silky. They help maintain the vibrancy of my coloured hair which means I can go longer between dyes. The sweet scent really hangs around in your hair which is lovely when you swish it around. These retail at £1.99 but they often have buy one get one free offers.
Whilst on the subject of hair care I’d like to introduce you to one of my favourite products Alterna Bamboo Colour Protection Fade Proof Fluide (bit of a mouthful I know!). I just smooth a few pumps of this through my towel dried hair and it leaves it amazingly shiny. I feel it really helps add strength and retain colour as well. It also has UV protection which is a bonus. This is more of an indulgent product. I found it on Amazon for £12.99 for 3.4oz which seems pretty steep but it really does last for ages.
Now on to some body love. This Cherry and Macadamia Body Butter is so rich and smooth you just want to spread it on toast and eat it! It smells like divine yoghurt or something, nom! I love strong scents and this definitely fits the bill. It moisturises beautifully and soaks into the skin really nicely. At £3.99 for a pretty big tub I would say it’s very good value for money as a little goes a long way.
Could you guess a Lush product was gonna sneak it’s way in here? Trust me, there’s more coming up! Tender Is The Night has an incredibly romantic, sensual scent. Full of vanilla, ylang ylang oil and my favourite ever smell- jasmine, it is my perfect blend of fragrances. Lush massage bars are designed to melt with heat, so as you rub them over you they release lovely moisturising butters and oils all over your warm skin. I also love the look of this bar, the cute little pink flower on the top just adds that touch of loveliness. Priced at £6.50 I consider them to be a bit of a treat, but we all deserve a treat every now and then!
Lush’s Bubblegum Lip Scrub is perfect for the colder months. It works really well to gently buff dry, chapped lips. The caster sugar does the buffing while the organic jojoba oil moisturises. The best thing about it though has to be it’s sweetshop taste! After scrubbing away you lick off the sugary goodness- yummy! A 25g pot comes in at £5.50 which for such a great product isn’t bad.
I like to finish treating my lips with a dab of Honey Trap lip balm. This is the only thing that has ever really worked for my dry winter lips. It’s super moisturising and tastes like honey and white chocolate! It costs £5.75 for a little tin which lasts forever. I got a tin just under a year ago and even with daily use I still have about half left. One thing I will say is be careful with the lid, I put mine of wonky once then spent half an hour bashing the tin to try and get it off again!
What to know something super cool about all of those products? They are all cruelty free! None of them have been tested on animals, yay!
I’ve added this Lemon and Ginger Twinings infusion at the end of this list because it is my favourite drink when I am ill. I can’t stand Lemsip so when I have a cold I turn to this instead. If you leave it to brew for ages (10 mins) then it’s lovely steam really helps clear a blocked system. Also ginger is really good for settling an upset tummy. Basically this drink is a lifesaver! A box of 20 bags costs between £1 and £1.50.
I hope you like the look of some of my favourite pamper products. I think it’s really important to indulge in some pamper time, even if you aren’t ill. It’s good for the soul. I try to pamper myself fully at least once a week because it really boosts my mood and confidence. It’s part of my radical self love practice.
I hope you are all happy and healthy!
Toodles for now.
