February Favourites

February has really flown past, I can’t believe I am making this post again already. I’ve done a bit of shopping this month so unlike January’s Favourites these are all things I have brought throughout the month. Next month is going to be a bit more of a quiet-money saving month… well until the 21st when I go to the Harry Potter Studio Tour! Let’s begin before I start obsessing over Harry Potter to you guys!

This month, in a bid to stop biting my nails, I have been loving painting them. I didn’t really have any nail varnishes so I popped down to Superdrug and picked up these Barry M beauties. I went for Strawberry Ice Cream and Berry Ice Cream because I wanted soft, subtle colours that would work well with all of my clothes. They are both super pretty and last really well with a clear topcoat. The Berry shade needs 2 coats to reach a good colour whereas the Strawberry needs 3 but it is so worth it! I also remembered I had some nail varnishes as a Christmas Present. They just came in a gift set from Wilkos but this silver shade is amazing! So pretty and sparkly and only really needs one coat. I have also been loving this Clay Time Purifying Face Mask from Wilkos. It is a pretty nice sized tub for only £3. It makes a nice weekend pamper treat and really does make my face feel that little bit softer. Deffo a must for pampering on the cheap.

Nail Decals

I got this pack of nail decals from my Glitterati Secret Santa at Christmas and only got around to giving them a try this month. They are so cute and so easy to use so I just had to buy some more sets! You get about 100 nail decals in a pack so between the one I already had and the 2 I brought I should be okay for quite sometime. I went for some simple black cats (which have sold out online) and some super cute unicons, cats, bunnies and tiaras! The work kinda like tattoo transfers and can actually be used on skin if you want. I have found a new obsession.

These two cuties were one of my valentines day presents to myself. They are from a lovely litter Etsy shop called Ember Candle Co and these were a special valentines day duo in a lovely strawberries and cream sent. I don’t think I will ever be able to bring myself to burn these little guys but they are scenting my room as it is. I am fully intending on buying a pastel blue and lilac one at some point and the best part is you can mix and match the scents, so I could have a mint smelling lilac candle!

Accessories (and a cushion…)

This months Crown and Glory favourites are just so lovely. The Scarf Bow Headband came in my February Glitterati box and has become my go to headband for days when I just want something simple to just add a little something-something. I have been lusting over the Lotta Rosie Headband in Ice Cream for quite some time now so was super excited to finally purchase it. It is so “me” and goes perfectly with all of my pretty dresses. I will be wearing this so much in spring and summer. I just had to include my Love Definition pillow from Primark because it was just staring at me. It’s so simple and cute and because it’s grey it works with all of our different coloured bedding sets.

TV / Netflix

Community was added to UK Netflix this month and this made me a very happy Emma. I had been wanting to watch it for ages so couldn’t wait to get stuck in. Me and Oli marathoned all 5 seasons in the space of about 2 weeks and boy was it a good 2 weeks. This series is hilarious and I am so happy it is returning for a 6th season. If you haven’t watched this then I highly recommend you give it a go.

Last Minute Faves

I was in Exeter this week for my friends birthday and I did a wee bit of shopping and although I only brought these bits within the last few days of the month I really wanted to add them in here because they are awesome. I popped in to Urban Outfitters and picked up this adorable fabric covered photo album with “Parties with my bitches” printed on the front. I’m going to print out some of my Instagram photos at the end of the year and this is going to be their home. I popped into Primark to get some leggings and basic crop tops and saw this amazing neon pink notebook just as I was going to pay and I fell in love. I think it’s going to become my new Journal because it makes me smile so much. It’s really good quality and was only £2.

I also took a wee trip to Lush and tried on a bit of the Vanillary Solid Perfume then went on with my way. However I spent all evening smelling this gorgeous smell and it took me hours to figure out it was the perfume. I went straight back the next day and brought myself one and now I cannot stop smelling it. It’s amazing and sweet and subtle and yummy! It’s mainly vanilla scented, as the name suggests, but it also has notes of tonka and jasmine which is probably why I love it so much, jasmine is totally my jam scent wise. I’m going to be wearing this everyday because it’s soft and subtle so will work with other scents (espeically Lust and The Comforter Lush perfumes) but is also amazing on it’s own.

So there you go, all the products I have been loving this month I hope this helped or inspired or entertained you.

Things I Love Thursday

Another week had passed and it was fabulous, if a little hail-filled! 2 awesome blog things have happened that I would like to mention. The 25th of February marked the first birthday of this blog and this will be my 100th post! Thank you to everyone who has stuck with me this far and I hope you stick around for even more exciting stuff! Here’s to another year adn another hundred posts. Now it’s time to fill you in on it’s wonderfulness and give thanks.

❤ Food at Swanpool beach. I was having a really crappy day so me and Oli went down to the beach and had some food and it was lovely, very healing. This cake was amazing! It was apple, blueberry and cinnamon, om nom nom.

❤ Watching dogs play on the beach. I’m going to miss them when Easter comes around and they can’t any more.

❤ Baking rainbow cupcakes with Sarah after being inspired by The Great British Bake off. It was so much fun to do and eat.

❤ Finding the absolute perfect top in a charity shop. It will be in a photo a little later on in this list!

❤ This quote on the window of the second hand bookshop in town.

❤ Getting home after being soaked by the rain.

❤ The part of the train journey when heading up country that’s right by the sea. Believe it or not this photo was taken on my phone while on a moving train. I’m pretty proud of it. Such a pretty journey.

❤ Just Train journeys in general. I got so much work done on my way to and from Exeter. It’s a great time to buckle down without distraction.

❤ Visiting Beth in Exeter to celebrate her birthday (I’m wearing my awesome new top in this photo!)

❤ Meeting Beth’s uni friends, they are so lovely. I had an awesome time away.

So that was my week, it’s been a fun one.

A Poem about Poetry

A few weeks ago in my Creative Writing Strategies class we were asked to write a poem about poems. I thought that was such an awesome idea and I really had some fun with it so I thought I would share it on here. It’s a little bit different but let me know what you think.

The Rules of Poetry

There once was a time
when I thought poems had to rhyme
Organised nice and neat
and always followed some beat

Now I know that’s BULLSHIT

No rules to control these words

Screenshot 2015-02-24 at 01.34.33

Poems can be whatever you want.

Give them wings so they can fly. Give them wings so they can fly. Give them wings so they can fly.Give them wings so they can fly. Give them wings so they can fly. Give them wings so they can fly. Give them wings so they can fly. Give them wings so they can fly. Give them wings so they can fly.

Poetry can be a comfort or a terrifying jolt.
It can be a warm embrace or the icy sting of loneliness.
It can tell wonderful lies or dangerous truths.
Build walls of protection or break down barriers of pain.
Can meop mean more than poem?
Flip it on it’s head it might make more sense.

Interpret, reread, understand, confusion, analysis, understand, get lost, out loud, to a friend, buy, lend, again and again, hid it away, keep it safe, copy for a lover, write, scribble, words, meaning, create, play, jumble, destroy.

Explaining this is hard
poems escape through fingers
like meaning
and thought.

Poems can be whatever you want.
Sure they can rhyme.
They can be sweet
they can even be “nice”.
But they don’t have to be.
Ignore the rule
they taught you at school.

I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it. I think poetry should be free and experimental and I tried to portray that in this poem. I am really getting into poetry and am excited about exploring it more in the future.

My top 10 Albums- part 2

Firstly I am so sorry this has taken me so long to post! Part 1 was posted such a long time a go and I don’t know where the time has flown. Anyway, it’s here for you now. Let me know in the comments what you think of the albums in the list, I would love to hear your opinions. I hope you all enjoy part 2-

6: Lest We Forget: Marilyn Manson

Oh Brian, how I love you. I didn’t always like Marilyn Manson but one day during my angsty teenage years something just clicked and suddenly he was my jam. When I realised how much I loved his music I had no idea what albums to get so I just went his greatest hits. I freaking love this album as a whole and think it hangs really nicely together, which i find is often not the case for greatest hits compilations. I’m super stoked to see Marilyn Manson play Download in June, something to cross off the bucket list. I love good old Brian so much I have an awesome figurine of him on my desk, I call him my study buddy. I love sticking this album on when I exercise. Something about those aggressive vocals and intense guitars just gets me going and makes me work harder. It’s even great to listen to when studying!

7: Nothing Personal: All Time Low

This is my go to feel good, party album. Pure pop-punk awesomeness. I saw All Time Low at Sonisphere in 2011 and it was so much fun. I jumped and smiled like my life depended on it. Me and one of my best friends have lyrics from Lost in Stereo tattooed under cute little skull hearts. I have the lyrics “Tattoos and a switchblade attitude” and she has “snakebite heart with a bubblegum smile” because those lines just sum us up so well! Weightless never fails to give me get up and go be it at the start of “my year” or just another random day. Nothing Personal is such a fun album which is just what you need sometimes.

8: Believers Never Die: Fall Out Boy

Another sneaky entry from Fall Out Boy and another greatest hits album. Again this album just hangs beautifully together (with the exception of the Christmas tune Yule Shoot Your Eye Out which it a bit jarring in July). I love listening to Fall Out Boy’s journey from start to… well not end because woo, they came off of hiatus! I love every single song on this album and I could listen to it on repeat forever. Each song has a slightly different vibe to it so boredom will never be an issue. I love the range of emotions this album deals with from the the sassy teenagery lyrics of A Little Less Sixteen Candles a Little More “Touch Me” to the somber tones of What A Catch, Donnie it really does have everything.

9: The Dresden Dolls: The Dresden Dolls

Now for some Punk Cabaret! The Dresden Dolls are an old favourite of mine and are like nothing else on this list. The songs on their self-titled album are conceptual works of art. Each song is deeply personal especially The Perfect Fit which mentions lead singer Amanda Palmer’s previous job as a living statue. The creepy, music-box intro to Coin Operated Boy was my ringtone for years and never failed to send a chill down my spine when it went off at night. Learning to sing the super fast lyrics of Girl Anachronism is still one of my greatest achievements, boy does that woman have amazing breath control.

10: All Killer no Filler: Sum 41

This album gives me some serious get-up-and-go. It’s full of punky, energetic vibes and aggressive lyrical moments. Of course it has it’s famous tracks such as In Too Deep and Fat Lip but the whole album is just freaking awesome! My two favourite tracks from the album have to be Nothing On My Back and Motivation. Despite their somewhat “sad” lyric both of these songs really get me going and are great to listen to when I’m in a rush to catch the bus (oddly specific, I know). I love how every song on the album is super short and punchy, Never Waking Up is only a tiny 49 seconds long! I think short songs are super important, a song doesn’t need to be long to be impactful. And of course the last track Pain For Pleasure deserves a mention. If you’ve watched the full length video for Fat Lip then you will have heard Sum 41’s bizarrely awesome tribute to old-school heavy metal. I love how unexpected it is! Thanks for keeping me on my toes guys.

Bonus: 1989: Taylor Swift

I just had to include this right at the end. Like many people I never used to like Taylor Swift. I didn’t get what all the hype was about and I kinda avoided her if I’m honest. But then Shake It Off came out and everything changed. I love that song so much! It makes super freaking happy and energetic and bouncy. The album is just full of gems but I won’t go on about them too much. I will mention Blank Space though because me and my boyfriend had a hilariously dramatic sing along to it in a club just the other day. I can’t find the exact quote but from her but she basically thought about how the media likes to portray her in a “man eater” light, then wrote the sort of song that this character would write to mock the media and their perception of her. I think that’s just so clever of her. This album is so different from any of her older stuff and it’s great. As soon as I could get my hands on it I did and it was played non-stop on new years eve. I love the new Taylor Swift and am 100% proud to call myself a fan.

So that’s that! I had a lot of fun compiling this list although it was hard to narrow it down.

Things I Love Thursday

Welcome to another week of gratitude.

❤ Galentines day with my babe Sarah.

❤ Dramatically lip-syncing Blank Space by Taylor Swift with Oli in Club I.

❤ Making plans to pop to Exeter for Beth’s birthday next week.

❤ Getting my radical self love tattoo! It was a valentines day present to myself and it was pretty freaking spontaneous. I got it a a craft fair! I think I will do a whole post about it and some more about my self love journey soon so keep your eyes peeled.

❤ The craft fair in general. It was at this new arts venue in Falmouth called A Curious Hall and it had so many awesome artists exhibiting. I brought an awesome etched wooden spoon that says “spoon me” on it and a cute little Pac Man and Mrs Pac Man cross stitch in a wee heart shaped frame. I had a lovely time there and can’t wait for the next one.

❤ Spending some quality time with my boo. He’s had a week off of uni this week and it’s been really nice to chill with him.

❤ Finally taking my Mum out for a meal at Zizzi’s last night. It was super lovely, great food, great atmosphere and awesome conversation.

❤ Writing poetry and liking it. You can check some of it out here.

❤ Discovering how to add stickers to my photos on instasize and putting them everywhere!

❤ Bus rides to uni. I find them a great time to do some serious thinking and planning.

❤ Constantly wearing my ametrine necklace. It’s such a positive stone and wearing it makes me feel all sparkly.

❤ Not biting my nails for a whole week. I am determined to break this habit!

❤ These super cute nail decals from DIY Nails that my Glitterati Secret Santa brought me. I only just got around to trying some of them out and I am so in love. I went ahead and ordered 2 more packs with different designs on. They are so simple to use but look amazing! They also last really well, I’ve had these on since Monday now and they are still fine.

Sunday Poetry

Happy Sunday everyone!

As some of you may know, I am studying Creative Writing at university. I thought it was about time I shared some of my work with you all. In class on Friday we were experimenting with poetry. We did a few spontaneous writing exercises where we were all given an arty postcard as a starting point then our lecturer asked questions to move our writing along. It was really new and fun for me. I enjoyed writing quickly, without any time to second guess myself. We wrote two poems and I really liked the first one I wrote so that’s what I am going to be sharing on here today. I edited it very slightly (organising punctuation and structure) but it’s pretty much just what I wrote on the spot in class.

Balloon Battles

Flowing fabric licking thick thighs
the sun beating down
forming midday beads of sweat.
Rainbow carnival colours;
orange, green,
red, blue.
Energy, celebrations,
drinking and dancing.
The drums in the distance
calling the party to arms.
Full-frontal joy
into balloon battles.
A moment of happiness
for what has been given.
Life, that is all.
Birds in shades of ocean
creeping from a tender grasp.
A skull ever present,
life only temporary.
Always there looming
begging the beat on.
The women glancing
toward the bouncing noises
the booms moving them along.
A figure walks in with a flourish
joining the swaying, surging crowd
light is what she brings.
Flowing fabric licking thick thighs.

Poetry is something pretty new to me so I was a little nervous about sharing this. Please let me know what you think in the comments, I would really love some feedback. Hopefully I will have more creative work to share in the future.

Things I Love Thursday

Welcome to yet another week of gratitude and awesomeness. I rediscovered my “Book Of Awesome” this week. Basically it’s a moleskine notebook where I used to recorded my gratitude lists before I had this blog. Upon finding it I decided to start using it again so have been writing day 5 things I am grateful for every day. Gratitude is such an important thing and recording it can be transformative. Since I started writing gratitude lists I have been so much happier and have been appreciating life so much more. They are also great if you are feeling down, you can look over old lists and see all the awesome things that have happened and dig deep to find things you are grateful for in that moment even if they seem small. So here goes:

❤ Being silly at he Gym with Sarah.

❤ Getting back into eating salad. I love the colours of salad, they really help cheer a meal up.

❤ Wearing my new trainers. They are so comfy and to top it off they are purple and turquoise.

❤ Decorating this little notebook with tonnes of stickers. It is now relevant to all of my interests- unicorns, dinosaurs and happiness.

❤ Feeling a wee bit creative.

❤ Stroking a super fluffy black cat.

❤ I somehow managed to get a 1st on my cultural theory essay at uni. So proud of myself because I found that essay really hard.

❤ Going out for breakfast with my boo. It’s such a nice meal and it makes a change being up and out doing fun things in the morning.

❤ Sunny Sunday selfies! Me and Oli went for a little picnic on the beach, It was super sunny when we left but by the time we got there it was getting chilly. We sat on the beach and ate ice-cream regardless.

❤ Swanpool is so pretty, I am blessed to live so close to it.

❤ Chatting to Jane (the owner of my favourite shop- Just Like This) we always have a nice natter.

❤ Coming inside when it’s really cold outside.

❤ Awesome new pretties. I needed to get a new purse because my old one decided it didn’t want to be a purse any more and I managed to find the perfect one in town. It is so cute, has the exact right amount of card slots for me and is the perfect size. I love it so much. Having the right purse is so important- your hard earned cash deserves a beautiful home after all. My Crown and Glory order arrived the other day so after months of lusting over it I finally have a Lotta Rosie hairband in icecream! I also got my valentines day gift to myself in the post today. I treated myself to two valentines day exclusive candles from Ember Candle Co and they are beautiful. They smell like strawberries and cream and they make my heat sing. I think buying yourself a valentines day present is a great way to practice radical self love.

❤ I love finding heart shapes in nature and I found this lovely little petal staring up at me on my walk home from the bus stop today.

❤ Seeing an old lady with a rad streak of bubble-gum pink in her fringe, you go girl!

❤ “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars is totally my jam this week! It’s so uplifting and awesome.

I thought I’d end this post by sharing Gala Darling’s recent video about gratitude and how you can slip some practices into your life. She’s the reason I started making gratitude lists and her blog posts constantly inspire me so I hope this video inspires you too.

Pink Hair Don’t Care- Colourful Dyed Hair FAQ

People ask me about my hair alot. I mean I do kinda look like a My Little Pony so I can understand why. Maintaining colourful hair can be a tricky thing so I thought it would be a nice idea to write a post dedicated to my personal hair tips and tricks. All of these questions are ones I have been asked in the past but if there’s any you have that I don’t answer then leave them in the comments and I will get back to you.

What is your natural hair colour?

Naturally I have incredibly dark brown hair with the slightest tinge of auburn. I have to bleach my hair first in order to attain the colour I want.

What bleach do you use and how often do you bleach your hair?

I used to get my roots bleached at the hair dressers when I could afford it and would 100% recommend you do this if you can afford it, especially if this is your first experience with bleach. However now I am a student and don’t have a job any more I can’t afford to do this so I use Live Colour XXL Max Blonde 00B (which is for dark hair, 00A is for lighter hair). I find this easy to apply, it’s pretty cheap and it does the job. I also love the conditioner they provide in the box, it leaves my hair feeling soften than it was before I bleached it! I tend to wait until my roots are pretty long before I bleach them because it takes a while to do. I have been known to wait 6 months between bleaches because I don’t mind rocking my roots however every 2 months would avoid that. The key is to not bleach bits that have already been bleached because that damages the hair. Another tip to keep bleached hair in good condition is to avoid heat as much as possible. Keep straightening and blow-drying to a minimum and use good conditioner.

What colour/brand of hair dye do you use?

I’ve only ever used Directions because it is available locally (and on Amazon if you don’t have a local retailer). Through the years I’ve used most of their colours however my favourite pink shade is Cerise. I’ve also mixed Rose Red with Carnation Pink to create a similar shade and have been know to dabble in Flamingo Pink. Cerise starts of really rich, almost purpley then fades to a lovely bright pink before going to a soft candyfloss shade. I like dyes that fade nicely because I actually hate dying my hair so like to leave as long as possibly (usually 2 months) between applications. I also love that you can combine the colours with conditioner to lighten the shade, I’ve experimented with this in the past when mixing colours and it works really well.

How do you maintain the colour?

Honestly my main tip is to not wash your hair that often. I know this isn’t feasible for everybody, I am lucky enough to have the sort of hair that only really needs washing once a week. However this tip can apply to anyone- if you wash your hair daily maybe try every other day or even once ever three days. It all helps. Trying to wash your hair with cooler water also helps maintain colour for longer. The care products you use will also effect the longevity of your colour but I will talk about that more in my next question. One tip I have tried in the past is to mix a tiny bit of the dye in with your conditioner so that every time you wash your hair you are slightly topping up the colour. This is effective but can be a little messy so I don’t bother any more.

What products do you use on your hair?

I use Superdrug’s Revitalising Raspberry & Macadamia Nut Shampoo and Conditioner when washing my hair. My hair really likes it so I’ve been using the same stuff regularly for about a year now. It’s formulated especially for coloured hair so that’s always a good sign. It makes my hair super soft, smells amazing and is only £1.99 a bottle! Amazing products for the price. After washing my hair I always use Alterna Bamboo Colour Care UV Fade-Proof Fluide whilst it is still damp. This adds loads of shine and super smoothness to my hair. It may be a little pricey but trust me- a little goes a long way. I have had the same tube for at least a year. Occasionally I will give my hair a little treat and use Alterna Bamboo Colour Protection Deep Hydration Mask on my hair. I tend to use this if it’s been partially sunny and my hairs feeling a little dry, it perks it up perfectly. I keep meaning to try some on Lush’s hair treatments and masks too, I will let you know how that goes. Dry shampoo is your friend to help perk hair up between washes without fading the colour. I usually use the Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush because it’s easy to get hold of and smells lovely. I am planning on trying the new Colab range as well after I smelt one my sister had and was blown away.

I hope this has answered some questions for you. Feel free to leave any more questions or any of your own tips in the comments section. Oh, if you hadn’t already guessed all of the hair accessories worn in the selfies are from Crown and Glory.

January Favourites

I don’t know about you guys but I love watching monthly favourites videos. I love what my favourite bloggers and vloggers are loving and maybe even finding some things to try out myself. Megan from Briar Rose inspired me to write a monthly favourites post instead of filming a video. Like me she doesn’t feel terribly comfortable in front of the camera so decided to try doing it in a blog post. So read on if you want to find out what things Iv’e been enjoying throughout January.

My first make-up favourite is by no means new. My sister brought me this Makeup Revolution London eye shadow pallet in the Dia De Los Muertos colour-way for my birthday way back in September and it has been a firm favourite since. It has a great range of neutral shimmer and matte shades as well as some really fun bright colours. It also has a massive mirror which is always great for make-up on the move. Next I had to feature the Lush Emotional Brilliance Translucent Face Powder.  This stuff is amazing! I wear it on its own or to set my foundation and it makes me skin looks flawless every time. It lasts for ages and doesn’t dry out the skin which is a problem I’ve had with powders in the past. It’s a little pricey but it is so worth it. Finally we have another firm everyday favourite- The Body Shop’s Define and Lengthen Mascara in black. As I’ve mentioned before, I am super fussy when it comes to mascara so, so when I find one that I like I stick with it. I used this mascara all though last year and finally got around to getting a new one recently. I actually brought two because this to me is a make-up essential. It does what is says in the name and does it well. It lasts all day without smudging but comes off easily when you need it to. Hands down my favourite mascara ever.

IMG_20150207_193154404Skin Care

Now for a few skin care faves. I was so excited when I walked into Lush and saw they had their valentines day products in. Thank goodness they had my absolute favourite shower gel back in stock- Prince Charming. This smells fruity and sweet and heavenly. If you get a chance to go into lush in the near future then please smell this, you will not regret it! This Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water is another thing I have my sister to thank for because after trying a bit of hers and Christmas I just had to go out and buy myself a bottle. All the things beauty bloggers are saying about this are true! It is so gentle, effective and simple. It’s just what you need at the end of the day to take off your make-up or just refresh your face before collapsing into bed.

Of course there would be some Crown and Glory in here somewhere. I have been loving the Small Glitter Hair Bows this month however out of the three ones I own this one in Candyfloss has been stealing the show. I love wearing it at the top of a bun or ponytail or to just clip my hair out of my face. They are so easy to wear and just add that bit of glam to any outfit. One day I want to own one in all 30 colours! I’ve also been loving my Glitter Scallop Crown in Parma Violet which came in my Janurary Glitterati Box. This is super cute and reminds me of flower petals. Anything on a metal alice band is good in my books because they are just so easy to pop on and go.

I have found the ultimate organisation tools! Veronica Dearly’s Terrific Project A4 Calendar and Terrific A4 Desk Organiser Pad are the things organised brain’s dreams are made of. They are bright, funky, quirky and simple to use. They are both laid out in lovely blocks so you can easily organise every aspect of your life. I am the sort of person who likes to write everything I need to do down so my mind feels calm and these products allow me to do that and have fun little positive daily prompts. I might just stockpile the desk pads for future years…

This Ametrine Pendent (I went for D) from Bonbi Forest has been rocking my world. I’m a big believer in crystal magic and this stone feels full of it. I’ve worn it every day since it arrived and every day has been that little bit better. I can feel it’s calming, positive vibes flowing through me. Another random favourite is Strawberry Gum. I have no idea why but I picked some up in the uni shop a few weeks ago and I have been really enjoying it. Finally we have Graze Boxes. These little boxes of healthy goodies delivered straight to your door are such a great way to keep those unhealthy cravings at bay. I wrote a whole post about these bad boys a few month back, you can check it out here.

I really enjoyed writing this post and I hope you all liked reading it! Let me know in the comments if you like this sort of post and I will make it a regular feature.

Things I Love Thursday

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve done one of these so be prepared for an overload of gratitude from the time I missed!

❤ House Christmas! A bit late I know but we had our house Christmas at the end of Janurary. Sonera cooked us a delicious vegan roast and we exchanged presents and watched funny youtube videos late into the night. I don’t say it enough but I freaking love my house mates. A year ago when we decided to live together we made such a great choice. (Polariod photos taken by the wonderful Sherrie on her new camera.)

❤ My amazeballs boyfriend Oli brought me a Download Festival ticket as a super early birthday present. I am so happy, grateful and excited! I’m actually going to get to see Marilyn Manson! June is going to be awesome.

❤ On point outfit colour coordination.

❤ Tidying my desk and organising some of my nick-nacks. A girl can never have too many glittery skulls.

❤ The sorbet in Zizzs is amazing. I had a scoop of each strawberry, lemon and pomegranate and they were all divine. 10/10, would recommend.

❤ My current favourite cocktail- a passion fruit daiquiri from Shed in Falmouth.

❤ Just the fact that I own a huge ampersand thingy. How random and fun. Also I just have so many odd little bits and bobs that make me smile every time I look at them.

❤ Beautiful packaging. I ordered one of these necklaces (I went for D) from Bonbi Forest and it came wrapped in this intricate origami wonderfulness. It was just so unexpected and special and it really added to the whole buying experience. I love Bonbi Forest and the necklace is perfect, I’ve been wearing it almost every day since it arrived.

❤ Madame Moxie’s Masquerade, what a night! Everyone came dressed in awesome fashions: Victorian, Steampunk, Burlesque, and partied the night away. There was cabaret acts, burlesque dancing and a pirate playing industrial sea shanties on a Victorian hurdy gurdy! It was a bizarre and unforgettable evening.

❤ How beautiful Falmouth is. These were all taken on different days at different times but they are all so beautiful. I love Falmouth so much. Just going on a walk along the seafront on a sunny day makes me feel like I am on holiday. I never want to leave this little haven.

❤ My wee trip to London with Oli to see his Dad and Grandma. You can read more about the trip here.

❤ Having some major body confidence. My body is awesome and I love it. It gets me from A to B and lets me have load of fun! I can swim, cycle, dance, run, skip- #thisgirlcan! I’m working on making it stronger and healthier but love it now and always will.

❤ Beth and her friend Caitlin coming down from Exeter to visit. We has some lunch in town before heading of on a seaside adventure. The weather was lovely and we ended the day with massive ice creams from Swanpool beach cafe. It was great to meet Caitlin and I’m going up to Exeter to see them and celebrate Beth’s birthday in a few weeks, woo!

❤ Mini shopping sprees. Today I went into town and got a few bits. I went for Barry M nail polishes in Berry and Strawberry along with eye shadows in Copper and Gold. The unicorn stickers were from a local discount store and the other bits and bobs were all from Barnardos charity shop including the flowery top I used as a backdrop. I had a fab day today hanging out in town with some uni friends.

Hows that for a lot of awesome gratitude! Join me next week for even more.
