So I Vlog Now! Adventures in Cardiff

I have had a Youtube channel for a while now. I made a few videos a year or so ago but kinda didn’t really follow through with doing anymore, although I do frequently make guest appearances on my sisters channel. But vlogging has always appealed to me. I love documenting what I get up to and I’m not easily embarrassed so filming in public is not a thing that scares me. So when me and Sarah went to Cardiff on a mini break last week I though fuck it, lets give this a go!

As I said, this is my very first time vlogging so I did forget to film a lot and have some pretty chin-heavy angles. But all in all I’m pretty proud of myself. Even after editing the footage down I still had enough to make two decent length videos. So I hope you enjoy! If you do feel free to pop over to my channel and subscribe, although I will always cross post my videos here as well so you won’t miss out either way.

And for a bonus here’s my wee haul video that I made when I got home. It includes all the goodies I brought minus some cute denim shorts that I forgot to add in and the food I got at Simply V because I ate it all, ooops! I’ve been on a roll lately.

So yeah, let me know what you think in the comments.

Stay rad!

Things I Love Thursday

Screenshot 2015-11-26 at 17.24.43.png

❤ Quality time with my Nana. We went to Truro last Friday and had so much fun. We did some shoe shopping, bought some Christmas presents and had lunch at Archie Browns. It was such a nice day. I think it’s so important to make time to chill with your loved ones. Planning on doing it again some time before Christmas, woo!

tumblr_ny85ixxcsp1u2kwfpo1_1280

❤ This beautiful rainbow of a salad from Swanpool Beach Cafe. It’s Moroccan style quinoa  with mixed leaves, humus and loads of yummy roasted seeds. It was one of the best salads ever, I’m so glad I gave quinoa another chance. Me and Oli had a really nice lunch at the beach. I love going to the beach in winter because you can watch all the happy dogs bounding around the sand and splashing in the sea.

❤ Winter. I really like winter. I’m not keen on the rain we get a lot here in England but there’s a lot of thing I love about winter. I love snuggling up in scarves and jumpers, lie ins in warm beds on cold mornings, that crisp chill in the air, Christmas drinks at coffee shops, Christmas light switch ons, present buying trips. I could go on for ages!

Not a long list today but I am happy and grateful and that’s what matters. I’m inviting you all, once again, to comment 3 things you are grateful for this week in the comments section.

#GirlsOnTour- Cardiff Haul

I was going to write a whole post about my weekend in Cardiff but my brain appears to be taking a day off and all attempts to write about it have been futile. I had a great time in Cardiff and really want to go back soon but apparently I cannot write about its awesomeness! Instead I will share my Cardiff haul video with you. I filmed this just before going to Download Festival this past weekend. It features lots of fun, affordable summer pieces and a fair few makeup items as well as some odd bits and bobs. I hope you enjoy.

There will be a post about Download hitting the blog sometime late this week/early next week. I have been such a busy bee lately and am going away again this weekend, so I’m  sorry that my blogging schedule is all over the place. When things settle down a but next month I will be creating a schedule and attempting to stick to it.

My Trip to London!

So as you will know if you read my last blog post I went to London about a week ago. My main reason for going was the Glitterati party however I decided to make a weekend of it with my friend Saskia who lives in London.

I was super nervous about travelling up on my own. The furtherest I’d ever been alone before was Exeter and that was all by train. This was a 6 hour coach journey from Plymouth all on my lonesome. I made sure to get some Rescue Remedy pastels after one of the Glitterati girls recommended them and packed my ipod and a good book to tide me over. The journey was actually much better and easier than I expected it to be. Everything ran to schedule until we hit central London, which is kinda to be expected, and I got a lot of reading done. Saskia met me at the station and all was good. We took a tube back to hers and had a good catch up over Dominos pizza.

We had a few places we wanted to visit on the Saturday before I went to the party and the first one was Cuppa Cha in China Town. Saskia had been going on about bubble tea for ages and I was super keen to try some but when we got there it was sadly shut. Undeterred we decided to pop along to the new 3 storey Lush on Oxford Street and come back later.

Oxford Street Lush is freaking amazing! It’s so massive and colourful and just heavenly for a girl like me. We spent a good hour wandering around the floors just looking and smelling before I even put anything in my basket. What I found super cool and odd is how each floor smelt totally different. On the top floor, where all the bath bombs are, I was tasked with finding my sister one of the 200 exclusive products that she would like. After some fun demonstrations I went with the Frozen bath bomb and an “I am a radiant being” bath oil. On the middle floor I had my arm ex-foliated with this awesome soap-powder stuff. It’s kinda like washing powder but for your skin. It made my arm super soft. We then went down to the relaxing bottom floor and both had an arm massage. So calming after the rush upstairs. I was pretty reserved and only bought myself 3 things. (At the end of this post I will include a haul video so you can see everything I bought whilst away.)

After all that Lush intensity we decided it was time to go back to Cuppa Cha then get some lunch. The bubble tea was amazing! I went for a mango tea with strawberry popping pearls and it was both refreshing and fun to drink. It’s a pretty weird sensation having the tiny bubbles pop in your mouth, releasing extra favours, but it was so fun and I bought 2 more bubble teas from another place while I was away. We then went to Yo Sushi for lunch which was pretty nostalgic for us because we ate in the same place we went to almost 4 years ago! I successfully managed to eat my whole meal, including noodles, with chopsticks which is a serious achievement for me. We then went to Topshop for a browse but only bough one thing before heading off to Kensington for the party. We promptly got lost but were eventually saved by an army of glittery angels but you can read more about that here.

I caught the tube back to Waterloo from Kensington with a little help from the wonderful Glitterati member Amber. She made sure I got on the right train and told me where to change for which I am forever grateful. I usually get panicky trying to plan things and figure out where I’m going but once I am on my way I’m fine. Saskia met me from the station again and we went back to hers and spent the rest of the night watching Eurovision and getting way too into it! I love watching Eurovision with friends, you never really know what to expect.

On the Sunday the plan was to go the the East End Thrift Store however due to a bus replacement we got kinda lost and confused in Whitechapel and ended up going for a cheeky Nando’s instead. It was surprisingly yummy and I can confirm much banter occurred and we did see some “lads”. As we had some time left after our cheeky detour we decided to pop back over to Topshop so I could get something else and we could just have a bit more of a browse. Saskia ended up getting the most amazing varsity-type jacket with “Girl Gang” embroidered across the back. So cute and so perfectly her.

H&M ended up being out final shopping destination and I was somewhat overwhelmed by just how many floors there were! You could so easily get lost in there! I picked up a bunch of things to try on but before I got to the changing room I noticed a photobooth. I never like to pass up a good photobooth moment so of course I was digging around in my wallet straight away. We put the money in and looked at the screen expecting instructions but before we could even sit down the flash went off and the first photo was snapped! We managed to sit down and somewhat compose ourselves for the second shot but I love the above result! It’s very silly and us.

That night we chilled out eating cookies and doing facemasks, embracing the sleepover vibe. We also had a rather hilarious suncream related incident where everything in my bag ended up covered in it! It was one of those disastrous times when just when you think you’ve got everything sorted more goes wrong and more mess is caused. I don’t think I’ve laughed that hard for a long time though!

On the Monday I had to go home, boo hoo. We of course took a goodbye selfie before heading back to the coach station. I bought the biggest doughnut I have ever seen from a vendor near Victoria coach station. It was almost the size of my head and boy was it delicious. Om nom nom indeed! At the station I had the pleasure of encountering a super happy, bubbly bathroom attendant. She really brightened up my sad, going home day. I got back to Plymouth ahead of schedule which was awesome and my Dad met me and took me back home to Falmouth. I had an amazing trip and after travelling up on my own I feel like I can do anything!

I filmed a wee haul video showing all the things I bought in London if you are interested. If you like the video remember to give it a thumbs up and maybe even subscribe.

February Favourites

February has really flown past, I can’t believe I am making this post again already. I’ve done a bit of shopping this month so unlike January’s Favourites these are all things I have brought throughout the month. Next month is going to be a bit more of a quiet-money saving month… well until the 21st when I go to the Harry Potter Studio Tour! Let’s begin before I start obsessing over Harry Potter to you guys!

IMG_20150227_185328553

Beauty

This month, in a bid to stop biting my nails, I have been loving painting them. I didn’t really have any nail varnishes so I popped down to Superdrug and picked up these Barry M beauties. I went for Strawberry Ice Cream and Berry Ice Cream because I wanted soft, subtle colours that would work well with all of my clothes. They are both super pretty and last really well with a clear topcoat. The Berry shade needs 2 coats to reach a good colour whereas the Strawberry needs 3 but it is so worth it! I also remembered I had some nail varnishes as a Christmas Present. They just came in a gift set from Wilkos but this silver shade is amazing! So pretty and sparkly and only really needs one coat. I have also been loving this Clay Time Purifying Face Mask from Wilkos. It is a pretty nice sized tub for only £3. It makes a nice weekend pamper treat and really does make my face feel that little bit softer. Deffo a must for pampering on the cheap.

IMG_20150227_185618676

Nail Decals

I got this pack of nail decals from my Glitterati Secret Santa at Christmas and only got around to giving them a try this month. They are so cute and so easy to use so I just had to buy some more sets! You get about 100 nail decals in a pack so between the one I already had and the 2 I brought I should be okay for quite sometime. I went for some simple black cats (which have sold out online) and some super cute unicons, cats, bunnies and tiaras! The work kinda like tattoo transfers and can actually be used on skin if you want. I have found a new obsession.

IMG_20150227_185927646

Candles

These two cuties were one of my valentines day presents to myself. They are from a lovely litter Etsy shop called Ember Candle Co and these were a special valentines day duo in a lovely strawberries and cream sent. I don’t think I will ever be able to bring myself to burn these little guys but they are scenting my room as it is. I am fully intending on buying a pastel blue and lilac one at some point and the best part is you can mix and match the scents, so I could have a mint smelling lilac candle!

IMG_20150227_185839815

Accessories (and a cushion…)

This months Crown and Glory favourites are just so lovely. The Scarf Bow Headband came in my February Glitterati box and has become my go to headband for days when I just want something simple to just add a little something-something. I have been lusting over the Lotta Rosie Headband in Ice Cream for quite some time now so was super excited to finally purchase it. It is so “me” and goes perfectly with all of my pretty dresses. I will be wearing this so much in spring and summer. I just had to include my Love Definition pillow from Primark because it was just staring at me. It’s so simple and cute and because it’s grey it works with all of our different coloured bedding sets.

TV / Netflix

Community was added to UK Netflix this month and this made me a very happy Emma. I had been wanting to watch it for ages so couldn’t wait to get stuck in. Me and Oli marathoned all 5 seasons in the space of about 2 weeks and boy was it a good 2 weeks. This series is hilarious and I am so happy it is returning for a 6th season. If you haven’t watched this then I highly recommend you give it a go.

Last Minute Faves

I was in Exeter this week for my friends birthday and I did a wee bit of shopping and although I only brought these bits within the last few days of the month I really wanted to add them in here because they are awesome. I popped in to Urban Outfitters and picked up this adorable fabric covered photo album with “Parties with my bitches” printed on the front. I’m going to print out some of my Instagram photos at the end of the year and this is going to be their home. I popped into Primark to get some leggings and basic crop tops and saw this amazing neon pink notebook just as I was going to pay and I fell in love. I think it’s going to become my new Journal because it makes me smile so much. It’s really good quality and was only £2.

I also took a wee trip to Lush and tried on a bit of the Vanillary Solid Perfume then went on with my way. However I spent all evening smelling this gorgeous smell and it took me hours to figure out it was the perfume. I went straight back the next day and brought myself one and now I cannot stop smelling it. It’s amazing and sweet and subtle and yummy! It’s mainly vanilla scented, as the name suggests, but it also has notes of tonka and jasmine which is probably why I love it so much, jasmine is totally my jam scent wise. I’m going to be wearing this everyday because it’s soft and subtle so will work with other scents (espeically Lust and The Comforter Lush perfumes) but is also amazing on it’s own.

So there you go, all the products I have been loving this month I hope this helped or inspired or entertained you.

Things I Love Thursday

Welcome to yet another week of gratitude and awesomeness. I rediscovered my “Book Of Awesome” this week. Basically it’s a moleskine notebook where I used to recorded my gratitude lists before I had this blog. Upon finding it I decided to start using it again so have been writing day 5 things I am grateful for every day. Gratitude is such an important thing and recording it can be transformative. Since I started writing gratitude lists I have been so much happier and have been appreciating life so much more. They are also great if you are feeling down, you can look over old lists and see all the awesome things that have happened and dig deep to find things you are grateful for in that moment even if they seem small. So here goes:

❤ Being silly at he Gym with Sarah.

❤ Getting back into eating salad. I love the colours of salad, they really help cheer a meal up.

❤ Wearing my new trainers. They are so comfy and to top it off they are purple and turquoise.

❤ Decorating this little notebook with tonnes of stickers. It is now relevant to all of my interests- unicorns, dinosaurs and happiness.

❤ Feeling a wee bit creative.

❤ Stroking a super fluffy black cat.

❤ I somehow managed to get a 1st on my cultural theory essay at uni. So proud of myself because I found that essay really hard.

❤ Going out for breakfast with my boo. It’s such a nice meal and it makes a change being up and out doing fun things in the morning.

❤ Sunny Sunday selfies! Me and Oli went for a little picnic on the beach, It was super sunny when we left but by the time we got there it was getting chilly. We sat on the beach and ate ice-cream regardless.

❤ Swanpool is so pretty, I am blessed to live so close to it.

❤ Chatting to Jane (the owner of my favourite shop- Just Like This) we always have a nice natter.

❤ Coming inside when it’s really cold outside.

buying

❤ Awesome new pretties. I needed to get a new purse because my old one decided it didn’t want to be a purse any more and I managed to find the perfect one in town. It is so cute, has the exact right amount of card slots for me and is the perfect size. I love it so much. Having the right purse is so important- your hard earned cash deserves a beautiful home after all. My Crown and Glory order arrived the other day so after months of lusting over it I finally have a Lotta Rosie hairband in icecream! I also got my valentines day gift to myself in the post today. I treated myself to two valentines day exclusive candles from Ember Candle Co and they are beautiful. They smell like strawberries and cream and they make my heat sing. I think buying yourself a valentines day present is a great way to practice radical self love.

❤ I love finding heart shapes in nature and I found this lovely little petal staring up at me on my walk home from the bus stop today.

❤ Seeing an old lady with a rad streak of bubble-gum pink in her fringe, you go girl!

❤ “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars is totally my jam this week! It’s so uplifting and awesome.

I thought I’d end this post by sharing Gala Darling’s recent video about gratitude and how you can slip some practices into your life. She’s the reason I started making gratitude lists and her blog posts constantly inspire me so I hope this video inspires you too.

Things I Love Thursday

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve done one of these so be prepared for an overload of gratitude from the time I missed!

FotorCreated

❤ House Christmas! A bit late I know but we had our house Christmas at the end of Janurary. Sonera cooked us a delicious vegan roast and we exchanged presents and watched funny youtube videos late into the night. I don’t say it enough but I freaking love my house mates. A year ago when we decided to live together we made such a great choice. (Polariod photos taken by the wonderful Sherrie on her new camera.)

❤ My amazeballs boyfriend Oli brought me a Download Festival ticket as a super early birthday present. I am so happy, grateful and excited! I’m actually going to get to see Marilyn Manson! June is going to be awesome.

❤ On point outfit colour coordination.

foodandskulls

❤ Tidying my desk and organising some of my nick-nacks. A girl can never have too many glittery skulls.

❤ The sorbet in Zizzs is amazing. I had a scoop of each strawberry, lemon and pomegranate and they were all divine. 10/10, would recommend.

❤ My current favourite cocktail- a passion fruit daiquiri from Shed in Falmouth.

❤ Just the fact that I own a huge ampersand thingy. How random and fun. Also I just have so many odd little bits and bobs that make me smile every time I look at them.

❤ Beautiful packaging. I ordered one of these necklaces (I went for D) from Bonbi Forest and it came wrapped in this intricate origami wonderfulness. It was just so unexpected and special and it really added to the whole buying experience. I love Bonbi Forest and the necklace is perfect, I’ve been wearing it almost every day since it arrived.

❤ Madame Moxie’s Masquerade, what a night! Everyone came dressed in awesome fashions: Victorian, Steampunk, Burlesque, and partied the night away. There was cabaret acts, burlesque dancing and a pirate playing industrial sea shanties on a Victorian hurdy gurdy! It was a bizarre and unforgettable evening.

cornishbeauty

❤ How beautiful Falmouth is. These were all taken on different days at different times but they are all so beautiful. I love Falmouth so much. Just going on a walk along the seafront on a sunny day makes me feel like I am on holiday. I never want to leave this little haven.

❤ My wee trip to London with Oli to see his Dad and Grandma. You can read more about the trip here.

bodyconfidence

❤ Having some major body confidence. My body is awesome and I love it. It gets me from A to B and lets me have load of fun! I can swim, cycle, dance, run, skip- #thisgirlcan! I’m working on making it stronger and healthier but love it now and always will.

❤ Beth and her friend Caitlin coming down from Exeter to visit. We has some lunch in town before heading of on a seaside adventure. The weather was lovely and we ended the day with massive ice creams from Swanpool beach cafe. It was great to meet Caitlin and I’m going up to Exeter to see them and celebrate Beth’s birthday in a few weeks, woo!

❤ Mini shopping sprees. Today I went into town and got a few bits. I went for Barry M nail polishes in Berry and Strawberry along with eye shadows in Copper and Gold. The unicorn stickers were from a local discount store and the other bits and bobs were all from Barnardos charity shop including the flowery top I used as a backdrop. I had a fab day today hanging out in town with some uni friends.

Hows that for a lot of awesome gratitude! Join me next week for even more.

Sisterly Shopping Spree- Vlog

Me and my sister Jenny hopped on a train to our nearest big city, Plymouth, for a day of shopping and shenanigans. The aim was to have a look around the sales but honestly most of the stuff we got was full price. Jenny vlogged the day and I wanted to share it with you guys;

Yes, I didn’t realise that a station was called a station because you are stationary there. Why am I studying English at university?! Anyway, I hope you enjoyed that sneak peek into our lives. Make sure you check out and subscribe to Jenny’s Youtube channel. She’s working on posting more regularly this year so expect awesome things. We filmed a haul video when we got home and that should be up later this week so I will make sure I share it on here.

Soap And Glory- The Next Big Thing Box, Treat yourself!

IMG_20141214_182924435

Every year Soap and Glory bring out a limited edition gift box full of awesome pampering treats. This year’s box is usually priced at £60 for 10 full sized products which would retail for over a whopping £75 normally, so we have a pretty good saving right from the get go. Now for the awesome bit- for one week only Boots stores in the UK have the box on sale for only £29!!!! How freaking great is that! I was convinced they would be sold out by the time I got myself to a store but Boots in Truro had loads left so I managed to nab myself one. They are selling fast but will be on this great deal until Thursday so if you want one at this great price then be quick!

IMG_20141214_183032544

There were two limited edition, collectable boxes designed by Hattie Stewart (professional doodler according to her website!), one only available online (which sold out within hours) and one only available in stores. As I said I got mine in store but this image shows both box designs. The box is massive and has a pretty durable handle making it easy to lug through town as you finish your Christmas shopping. It’s so lovely and quirky and I think I will be using mine to store my Crown and Glory accessories in once it’s empty. All of the products come snuggled it a pretty pink drawstring bag, which again will be great for storing things in the future.

IMG_20141214_183325717

As I said there are 10 full sized products inside ranging from facial care to make up to lovely creams for the body. There’s a really wide range of different scents and products in here so you can get a real taste of what Soap and Glory is all about. I think this would be a

great gift for someone who is new to the brand. There’s also a £3 off voucher for the next time you spend £12 which is great if you fall in love with something and use it all up and need to dash out for more.

IMG_20141214_183414641

I thought it would be nice to go through all the products for you so if you miss out on the deal or are only interested in a few of them you have some sort of idea what they are like. First up we have the Hand Dream Super Cream (£7). As the name suggests this is a hand cream and it really is dreamy! It soaks in to the skin super quickly and leaves them feeling silky soft in seconds. Like lots of Soap and Glory products it has a sweet fruity sent which lasts for ages. Next is Whipped Clean Shower Butter (£8) which is an in-shower moisturiser. You use it like normal shower gel but it is extra moisturising because it has loads of natural butters and oils. It smells good enough to eat with an almondy fragrance. Heel Genius Amazing Foot Cream (£5.50) is a super fresh smelling foot cream that you massage into your feet before bed. As someone who likes walking around with bare feet a lot in the summer this will do my feet the world of good.

IMG_20141214_183642578

Now on to two of the biggest products in the box. Butter Yourself Body Lotion (£10) is a super moisturising lotion best applied to damp skin after a shower. Again it has that sweet but fruity fragrance that really lingers on the skin. I love that it comes in a pump bottle, super easy for application. Orangeasm Body Wash (£6.50) is the fruitiest smell ever! It has the most amazing orange smell to it and when I say that I mean it smells like actual oranges not that sickly synthetic smell you often get. It is so uplifting and just wow! This is perfect for a morning shower as it will really wake you up.

IMG_20141214_183814470

Sugar Crush Body Scrub (£8) has my absolute favourite Soap and Glory scent! Like most of the other products, there are many other products that share scents meaning you can really build up your fragrance. The Sugar Crush Body Wash (£6.50) is one of my favourite things ever so when I realised that the scrub was in here I was a very happy panda. This scrub works wonders on “scaly” your skin is feeling and it’s sweet lime scent will hopefully make you feel as happy as it makes me feel. The Righteous Butter (£10.50) is a luxurious body butter with that signature Soap and Glory scent. It’s super rich and thick and, much like the hand cream, leaves your skin feeling velvety soft.

IMG_20141214_183911731

Finally we have some bits for your lovely face! First we have the Thick And Fast Mascara (£10) which I used for the first time today on an outing to town. I am pretty fussy with mascaras, many have come through my house and only get used once before being tossed in the bin. This one however is great! It really have my lashes a boost and lasted all day. The brush is pretty big and a bit daunting, but I found it worked like a dream. Off Your Face (£4.50) are face cleansing clothes with a pretty hilarious name. I love it when brands are a bit jokey with their product names. I have yet to try these but they claim to “wipe your skin clean of dirt and make-up, help to clear your complexion, and leave your face feeling fah-resh” so I hope they deliver. They have a textured surface to exfoliate your skin as well as cleansing and toning. Finally we have Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Shine Lacquer (£7) which is possibly my favourite name for a product of all time. The one included in the box is a kind of pinky, subtle colour that I think would suit most people. It’s the kind of shade you would describe as “your lips but better”. I wore it today and it was pretty long lasting and the shine was just sublime. I don’t usually go for lip glosses or lacquers but I think I may be getting this in some other colours because I really liked it as it’s not as sticky as some others I’ve tried.

So that’s that! Good luck if you want to get your hands on one of the boxes. As I said at the beginning- Boots in Truro had loads left the other day so if you live in Cornwall then get your butt down there! I hope my reviews have helped if you are thinking about getting any of the individual products. Soap and Glory is an awesome company, everything smells freaking gorgeous, works wonderfully and has pink packaging, what more could you want?!
